Cherry Picking 2.0 - Confidence and Inspiration
Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 08:01AM We really are in a world where anything goes. As discussed in Cherry Picking 1.0 we have so many pallets to pick from.
- We can think, act and dress however we like. It's about being yourself - the most sparkly version. If you can forget labels/stereotype given to us by (ourselves and/or) others, it leaves us free to be your 100% best, sparkly self.
- Cherry pick from who or what inspires you - celebrities or otherwise.
- If a reinvention is in the works, then do it- Maddonna does. Reinvention can be gradual. It can be subtle enhancements or changes as you try out differents attitudes or looks.
- The aim of cherry picking from looks, attitudes, anything is to feel good about yourself and add to your confidence. Confidence is the thing that allows Lady GaGa to pull of everything she does, including the outfits.
- I am loving Who Do You Want To Be Today?: Be Inspired To Dress Differently
which is a cherry picker's guide to how to borrow the look and the attitude of twelve different looks. It's a fun and inspiring little read.
- A little Fake it till you make it works a treat... 'imitate confidence so that as the confidence produces success, it will generate real confidence'.
- I just adore Lady Gaga's words 'I operate from a place of delusion - that's what The Fame's all about. I used to walk down the street like I was a fucking star... I want people to walk around delusional about how great they can be - and then fight so hard for it everyday that the lie becomes the truth."
- Many will totally disagree, and that's fine, we're all inspired by different things. Each to their cherry picking own.
- Cherry pick what and who you listen to. Switching off the news is a good thing sometimes. Strive for a little self-awareness.
- Listen, watch, read whatever it is that makes you feel good. Take what what clicks or makes sense from them, don't feel obliged or pressured to do everything they say or recommended and leave the rest. Just like this website.
