It is seen extensively in fashion, toys, personalities, entertainment, Japanese pop culture and appearance.

In the 70's teenagers started to form little cartoons and other cute things into their handwriting. From there acting cute, with childish mannerisms literally became trendy.

This continued in the 80's with cute Idols (models/muses/singer/celebrity/media personality rolled into one) and females emulating their style.

Now even police have their own cute mascots, and 'kawaii' has quite literally spread everywhere. Pikachu from Pokemon is even painted on their aeroplanes!

Think Hello Kitty, Miffy, Pokemon, they way girls act in shows like Sailor Moon... it's all kawaii.

Kawaii is deeply rooted in Japanese culture, for it's peaceful and unassuming nature. It's coming over to the West, with Gwen Stefani releasing Harajuku Lovers perfume (I wear it, it's gorgeous).

It really is a national obsession in Japan, part of their ridiculously fascinating culture. I'd love to visit one day.

Perez Hilton was the guy who inspired me to blog and the nature of this blog (antidote to celebrity).

Hit up www.perezhilton.com on your browser and you're met by a garish pink website by the 'Queen of all Media'. This site gets millions of hits a day and had made Perez into that which is the subject of the site, a celebrity. and celebrities.

He's a hero of this site for many reasons... mainly doing something, being bold, not caring what others think and becoming a success.

He says he started blogging "because it seemed easy." Now he's released books, had tv spots, radio shows, spin-off websites, merchandise.

Whether Perez likes your music could literally make or break your career, he has THAT much influence.

Whilst he may have been at the centre of a few controversies, who cares, the guy is an original, he stands up for gay rights and animals, and works damn hard.

Perez, my hat comes off to you, you're an AntiCeleb hero!

They look like a Real Hustle crew or something, really cool, can't wait to here the album, due out in the next few months.
